Creative therapy is a unique way of exploring your inner world through expression. Whether you're struggling with difficult emotions or simply want a different approach to self-discovery, creative therapy can offer healing in a safe and nurturing environment.

If you're unfamiliar with creative therapy, you might worry about not being "good enough" or fear judgment. It's natural to feel that way, but creative therapy isn't about producing a perfect result—it's about the process. The goal isn't the final outcome but the journey of self-exploration. With the right guidance and care, creative therapy can be incredibly transformative, helping you gain deeper insights into yourself.

My experience both personally and professionally advocates accessing the creative process which I believe can be a powerful way to heal and connect with your true self.

For some people, words alone can feel limiting or even overwhelming when trying to express deep emotions. This is where creative therapy can be especially beneficial. I’ve found that many clients experience a sense of relief and healing when they can explore their feelings through different creative mediums rather than focusing on language alone.

In our sessions, you will always be in control. My approach is gentle, non-judgmental, and tailored to your needs. You decide how and when to engage with each activity, making it a truly personal and empowering experience.

How Creative Therapy Works

One method I may offer is sand tray therapy, where you can explore your feelings by simply running your hands through the sand, focusing on the sensory experience. From there, we might use small objects that draw your attention. The beauty of sand tray therapy is that you don't need to explain anything—you can simply interact with the materials in whatever way feels right to you.

We may also use clay or other moulding materials, inviting you to explore your emotions and sensations in a hands-on way. Some people find that shaping the clay helps them access feelings that words can't express.

There is no “one-size-fits-all” approach. We will work together to find the methods that resonate most with you, ensuring you feel comfortable and supported every step of the way.

Creative therapy can also involve visualizing emotions, whether it's paying attention to how your feelings show up physically in your body, associating colours with certain emotions, or expressing your feelings through words and images. Sometimes, looking through postcards or pictures can help you discover emotions that you might not have been aware of before.

A Personal and Transformative Experience

Every person's journey is unique. At first, this approach may feel unfamiliar, but many clients find it to be a deeply therapeutic and emotional experience. Creative therapy can provide valuable insights, healing, and a greater understanding of yourself.
